Grew up in a flying family; third generation aviator. Started as a very young boy building model airplanes and model rockets. Around age 12 began flying radio control airplanes which would later come into play with flying aerobatics. My passion for flying has always been ever since I could remember. My dad would take me to airshows as a kid and I was amazed at what these men and woman could do with the planes. My inspiration came from the late Leo Loudenslager; whom was 7 time US National Aerobatic Champion. I wrote Leo a letter in 8th grade and he sent me an autographed picture back. I have it still today hanging up.
I began flying with my father in airplanes at the age of 13 and soon there after soloed when I turned 16; attended Clemson University for college where I continued to fly and develop the love for aviation. After many years of school and flying charter I landed my first commuter airline job. Two more airlines later, working my way up, landed a job with a major airline where I am Captain of a 737-700.
Flew my first aerobatics when I was in high school in a Pitts S-2A. From there jumped around to many airplanes, cubs, stearmans, skybolts etc….. got involved with aerobatics full time in 1998. I had a Pitts-S2B. I began competing and training. Made the first US Advance Aerobatic Team in 1999 and then flew in my first World Championship in Grossenhein, Germany in 2000. I finished 7h in the world out of 67 and was the youngest pilot there. From there I just continued to work hard a train.
Moved into the SU-31 in mid 2001 and started flying Unlimited. I have sense won many regional contest and placed very high at nationals. I have also since flown in two more world championships and just recently got back from Silverstone, England competing in the 2009 World Championships with the US Team.
I continue to strive for perfection and hope one day to be World Champion.
