Sukhoi SU26 M3
Pilot: Michael Racy

The SU 26M3 is a prototype aircraft designed by the Sukhoi design bureau. There are currently only three in existence. It includes elements of the SU-26 the SU-31, the SU-31M along with additional new technologies. It is based on the SU-26 airframe modified with an SU-31 rudder. The wing length and profile is modified to match that of the SU-31M (about 10 inches longer overall with a different leading edge than the 26). A large oversized oil cooler and revised cowling is used. The M14-PF engine is replaced with an M9F with an output over 420HP. The 26M3 also includes the newest generation extraction seat and uses a modified aileron design. The result is an aircraft that is lighter than the 31 with more power than any other Sukhoi version and with a more efficient wing and better role characteristics.
